iRobot Roomba 981-Best Robot Vacuum For Bare Floors
Our favourite robot vacuum for bare floors is the iRobot Roomba 981. It does an excellent job on surfaces like hardwood or tile and can easily collect pet hair and small or bulky debris in a snap.
The vacuum is capable of adjusting its suction power setting and brush height automatically, which is good for people who have a mixed variety of carpets in their house.
It is convenient how this vacuum is so small and maneuverable. It moves in a pattern that’s well-thought-out, which makes it easy to clean under any furniture. It can even climb over low obstacles like electrical cords without getting stuck – so you don’t have to worry about them.
It’s built well with a somewhat professional-looking design and dense, rubber wheels. The vacuum also has a HEPA filter that can catch the varieties of allergens in the air. You can set up cleaning sessions from your phone and it’ll clean accordingly.
This vacuum doesn’t mind making its own map. We do think that sometimes it would be helpful to clean specific rooms within your home.
Some people may say that it incurs high recurring costs and has many parts that need constant cleaning – but it is still one of the best ones in its class.

EUFY ROBOVAC X8
If you’re looking for a vacuum that can clean on bare floors but is just a little more advanced with automation, the eufy RoboVac X8 may be what you want.
This robot vacuum delivers superb performance on bare floors, but is not equipped with a HEPA filter to trap allergenses.
You can also use the companion app to set boundaries or manually select modes for cleaning and suction.
Battery life is also impressive, lasting between 80 to 200 minutes depending on your settings.
The biggest downside is that it takes the car about an hour to fully recharge. Despite this, its LIDAR mapping system is fairly advanced so even if it does bump into something it won’t usually hit a specific object like its charging station.
Get the iRobot if you want a robot vacuum that provides better maneuverability with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter; but, consider the eufy if you want a wider range of automation features.
iRobot Roomba S9- Best Robot Vacuum For Pet Hair
The Roomba S9 is our favourite robot vacuum for pet hair that we’ve tested so far. It feels incredibly well built – with a high-quality plastic body, and tough wheels to prevent scratches on floors.
There are a lot of features that make the Roomba S9 absolute joy to use. Not only does it have a high-functioning vacuum head with multiple settings, but also its onboard HEPA filter will reduce allergens as you clean.
This vacuum is great on most surfaces. It effectively sucks up all the pet hair, even in high-pile carpet.
Along with its long battery life, this robotic vacuum also has outstanding suction strength which allows it to clean larger spaces without needing a recharge.
The robot vacuum has a lot of moving parts that need to be maintained or replaced, but when you’re looking for an option that can work on all types of surfaces, it’s a good choice.
Yeedi Vac station-Best Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum
The best automated vacuum that we’ve tested is the yeedi vac station. Unlike other robot vacuums, especially in this price range, it has a self-emptying function that lets you transport debris from the internal dustbin to an external dirt compartment mounted on the charging dock. You’ll spend less time on hands-on maintenance which is good news for busy people.
It is also a great cleaning tool for bare floors and does well on high-pile carpets, but struggles with low pile carpet.
This vacuum has many other automation capabilities. You can use its companion app to direct it to specific rooms within your home or set up no-go zones on its coverage map to prevent it from entering certain spaces.
The Roomba is an incredible piece of technology and can easily navigate any room of the house, thanks to its ability to easily avoid furniture or weave around high pile rugs. However, it may struggle with bumping into tassels that are stuck in its brush roll.
The surface detection feature automatically increased the suction power when it detected carpet, but would avoid any rugs or carpets with the mop attachment fitted.
Wyze Robot Vacuum-Best Budget Robot Vacuum
The Wyze Robot Vacuum is the best robot vacuum we tested in the budget category. Its fair price point isn’t indicative of its advanced automation features.
The LIDAR mapping system creates a map of your house or property which you can access through the app. This enables you to set virtual boundaries for cleaning sessions, create a boundary line, or schedule time-based sessions so that your home remains clean at all hours of the day.
It’s hard to find a vacuum that can work on both carpet and bare floors, but this one is great for picking up pet hair or other bulky debris. It does a pretty good job with low-pile carpet, but it has trouble with very fine dirt.
It’s built impressively well and has a HEPA filter to catch allergens, so you don’t have to worry about allergy season ruining your day. The battery life is pretty good too, usually lasting for about an hour or two on a single charge, depending on what setting you use.
This robot vacuum cleaner lacks a surface detection system so has to rely on the user to manually set the suction intensity.
They have a small dustbin and need emptying frequently. A few parts need to be cleaned or replaced over time, so the recurring costs may be higher than other robots. But if you’re looking for an inexpensive yet feature-packed vacuum, this is a good option.
