Proscenic M8 robot vacuum cleaner review

Design
The circular vacuum cleaner has a stylish, sort of steel look but its brushed surface quickly lets you know it’s not real metal.
The M8 robot vacuum cleaner itself is round with a diameter of 13.8 inches / 35cm and the height is 3.9 inches / 9.8cm at the highest point in the center.
Proscenic M8 Robot Vacuum Cleaner is really simple to use. It only has two buttons on top and a place to recharge it. The base (where the battery and motor is) measures 14.2 x 11.1 x 8 inches / 36.1 x 28.2 x 20.2 cm (h x w x d)
Accessories
In the package, you will get Proscenic M8 Robot Vacuum,2-in-1 Dust Box, Water Tank, Remote control, Rolling brush, Charging base, Side brushes, Cloth mop holder, Cloth mop , Adapter and Manual.
The charger station comes with a dust bag that automatically captures all the dirt from the cleaning session, so no need to empty a dirt bin. Additionally, this also makes it more hands-off than other robot vacuums which have small dirt bins.
Brush
The Proscenic M8’s side brush is designed to pick up debris that you don’t have time to vacuum. But while it’s effective, cleaning other areas separately might be necessary.
Sensor
The Proscenic M8 Vacuum Cleaner comes with a laser ranging sensor and is equipped with anti-collision sensors. This prevents the vacuum from hitting walls and falling down the stairs. The vacuum also utilizes advanced mapping technology to understand your different spaces and sweeps up all debris quickly.
Suction power
The Proscenic M8 has a suction power of up to 3000Pa, which makes it more powerful than the Proscenic M7 PRO (2700Pa). It can clean any type of dirt on any surface.
The Proscenic M8 vacuum cleaner is able of increasing its suction on carpets and has an automatic carpet boost. However, it can become noisy while in use, which can sometimes interrupt the work done by your employees. When it automatically empties the dustbin, the noise it creates is so loud for a few seconds – this is something that other auto-emptying dustbins create as well.
Cleaning

This is not the only downside to this machine – at times it fails to pick up dirt, and what it does pick up may not be properly distributed, as Proscenic needed to invent a “Y-shaped mopping” pattern for their machine.
It is still good at its job, but it has some issues that are apparent; for example, it also got a bit dust on the surface.
Mopping
It’s such a pleasure to have a company like Proscenic that innovates in the robotic vacuum segment, along with the mopping functionality. Setting it up is very easy, simply attach the mopping pad to the brushes and insert it into the container. The next step is to fill or empty out the water tank which takes minimal time and effort.
When it’s in mopping mode, the robot vacuum slowly releases water onto the mop while cleaning. The two-in-one combo will help you keep your floor dry and clean.
Charging and battery life
Proscenic’s robot charges to 100% in 5.5 hours, but when the battery gets dropped it still takes 3 hours to recharge to 100%. The robot always returns to its charger after every clean, despite what percentage the batteries are at.
Smart App Control

You can set up the M8 using its remote or the new Proscenic app. One it had connected to my Wi-Fi, it operated without a problem.
Apparently, there are many connection issues as seen from some reviews I’ve read. Future updates will likely fix these bugs so future users don’t face the same problem. However, these bugs did inconvenience me during my review period and prevented me from accessing some of the M8’s most compelling features.
The app provides more useful functions like virtual barriers, multi-floor mapping, and cleaning zones. I had to upgrade to the newer app when I opened the older one but it’s been working pretty well.
Performance
Press play to vacuum; when Proscenic’s Vboost technology recognizes carpet, it automatically boosts suction to its maximum level.
The M8 automatically adjusts suction depending on the type of floor. There’s a spot cleaner too for those bits you need extra attention.
When you switch back to hard flooring, suction will return to the previous power level. You can manually turn Max suction on with the remote, but keep in mind that this usage mode will drain your battery more quickly.
The M8 did a great job of mapping my first floor and was able to maneuver the obstacles it encountered, like the bump on my hardwood floors.
It’s natural for there to be some dirt left on the first clean but with a little more effort I was able to make everything spotless.
